Hip Rotation of Karate

Some Karate practitioners in Okinawa said that Okinawan Karate does not rotate hips.

Is that true?
Actually, based on my experience of Okinawan Karate, that is NOT true!

Karate is a way of learning how to use our body, such as muscles, bones, nerves, joints, weight, gravities, etc.
To connect all of the parts of your body, you could maximize your power to punch, block, and kick.

The secret of hip rotation is 8 8-shape rotation like the piston movement of the engine of a car.
(I would like to talk more about this 8-shape hip rotation, or double 8-shape hip rotations soon.)

Except for the time to fight, Karate practitioners are training their body by using hip rotations. However, to fight, they tried to stop moving their hips and shoulders to hide their starting moments of any movements of muscles, bones, consciousness, etc. So some of the Karate styles say that we need to keep the square of the upper body, but hidden hip rotations are always necessary to maximize our body power.

I hope this observation helps you.
Thank you,
